Before You Download

What numbers should I actually be tracking?
Revenue growth, average revenue per member (ARPM), retention rate, and member lifespan, the four numbers that actually matter for a gym or studio, each with a clear formula and a real example.
How do I calculate my churn rate?
Churn Rate (%) = (Members Lost in Period ÷ Members at Start of Period) × 100. It's the simplest version of the formula and the most widely used, since it only needs your member count at the start and end of a period. For the revenue-weighted version and how monthly churn compounds into an annual figure, see our full churn rate formula breakdown.
Do I need a finance background to use this?
No. The formulas are simple, and each one comes with a worked example so you can calculate yours today.
